The SoShelli.com Creative Challenge

Welcome to the SoShelli.com Creative Challenge.

I am often inspired by others' work, and I'm excited to "host" a creative challenge for you!

Because our convention theme this year was Celebrate 2008, my first Creative Challenge is to create a project with the word "Celebrate" in it. You can do a card, page, favor box, whatever! How's that for nice and simple?

After you've completed your project, scan it or take a picture. Upload the file to your blog or in an online gallery, and then come back here. Leave a comment on this entry with a link; be sure to link to a specific web page and not to your image file. (Please don't e-mail me your files; only projects submitted with links will be eligible.)

For this first deadline, you have until Sunday, August 31—that's almost a whole month. I might decide to do Creative Challenges more often, but for now once a month sounds perfect! After the deadline, I'll post the winning creations, along with a new Creative Challenge.

I look forward to seeing your amazing work!

I can't wait to be able to play in this challenge and can't wait to see what phenomenal projects pop up on here. It never ceases to amaze me what these artists can come up with. All I can say is that they are soooo inspiring!! I have so many favorites... so little time to check on them daily! lol

Happy blogging to you!

What a fabulous challenge! I will definitely post another project made specifically for this challenge before the deadline, but in the meantime I just uploaded a tag I made for a Convention swap that was all about celebrations. Here's the link to my blog post:http://stampwithdiane.blogspot.com/2008/08/celebrate-tag.html

Is there anyway that the words can be kept off of your picture? I found it difficult to read when it wasn't on the ivory. The words fadded into the picture and I could not make them out. The writing and your picture faded together. Just old I guess! lol Cindy

A note from Shelli: We've looked into this and believe you are using Internet Explorer, version 6. Other browsers, as well as Internet Explorer, version 7, don't have this problem. You can download version 7 free at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx. Thanks for visiting!

Here's a card I made for one of my downline's children as he graduated from high school. His mom homeschools 5 children (4 of her own and one neighbor) and this is the first to graduate. It can be found at:

Shelli,
You are such an inspiration. I LOVE your new endeavor with this blog and look forward to visiting it many times. Sorry I didn't make it to convention this year, (the first time I've had to miss in 10 years!) to see you and all my stampin' friends. Looking forward to next year, though.
Blessings,
Carol

WOOHOO! Having just returned from SLC and another fantastic SU convention, I am so excited to see the blog up an running. We shared a moment at convention Shelli, but I have to say that I love the fact that you are blogging! I really find it therapeutic and blogged every night that I was at convention even though I was dog tired! I just couldn't wait to get my thoughts down for the day. Here's a book that I did for a mini album swap at convention only by the time I got done with it, it wasn't very mini at all! I loved doing it, the girls loved it, and most of all I now have a great album to put my convention pictures in!!

Hi Shelli, I enjoyed your blog very much and look forward to viewing in days to come. I love your beautiful yellow roses that decorated your pages, they mean alot to me and are my favorite. My Aunt Ruth gave me yellow roses for my 16th birthday and birthdays after that along with the birth of my children. Every time I see them I think of her and are my favorite flower. That is why my email is in her memory too. Rosy Eckhardt

Is there any way to have the words be bigger. I have bifocales and it is hard for me to read. I love the color scheme. Now I may just have to get busy and do a blog altho I don't know how to post cards since I don't have a digital camera. Some one may be able to take the time and walk me thru it.

Shelli, I went to my very first convention this year, I was exhausted but loved every minute! I was one of the 'monkey' girls, we had the sock monkey on our shirts and I handed you the banana to hold! LOL That was a great photo!
I told my husband before I left that this would be my one and only convention since I need to visit my daughter in CA and I live in NC. BUT, I am hoping to earn enough this year to be able to do BOTH next year. I was very inspired with Convention and am excited to succeed!
I love that you are starting a blog. I have been blogging for around 9 months and love it! So have fun with it!

Wow! What a great inspiration this blog is going to be for me both personally & professionally in my SU! career!!

Looking for contest rules. Does the 'celebrate' project have to be current SU! products?

To clarify, do we have to use Stampin' Up! stamps & products? Just kidding!!! Thanks for the inspirational nudge ;-)

Dear Shelly,

thank you so much for providing your blog! I´m also one of your first Demonstrators in Germany and met you too in Hamburg. I would love to join your challenge.

Is it ok to translate the word "Celebrate" into other languages? The Germans are so happy that they can buy stamps in their own language.

I´m looking forward to all the great things we´ll get and your coming blog entries!

Jeanette

Will we get the great supplies too what you introduced on the convention? I want to buy and to demonstrate all the great things too!

Wow,sounds like a great Challenge, I was unable to attend convention due to a health care missions trip to the Hoopa Native American Reservation in Eureka CA. I really struggled not going to convention, It is my get ready for the next thing, I hear only good things from Convention.
I have great upline support and look forward to the next year with Stampin' Up!

This is my creative entry for Convention. I had such a blast with every-single-one of the stamping ladies I got to meet. I put together a photo collage of it and posted it on my blog (this is my personal family blog but since my stamping blog crashed (too many hits at once) on the first day and I haven't had the time to reinstall everything I reverted to my family one. Enjoy Shelli:

Thanks for the challenge, I love some extra inspiration every now and then.
I hope this is open to Australian Demo's too, if not it was fun to do anyway:
