Terrific Technique Creative Challenge

When I was thinking about this month’s challenge, I knew I wanted to keep it broad and simple—if your calendar is anything like mine, your next few weeks are plenty full already! That last thing we need is another thing to do on our "to-do" list, right?

That said, I know I’ll manage to get some stamping in, and I hope you do too! So this month, I’m asking for any project (card, project, 3D, etc.) that features one of your favorite techniques.

Make sure you mention when you submit the project what the technique is, in case we can't tell just by looking at the visual. And if special instructions are needed, feel free to include those as well--but they aren't necessary!

I always like to see—and try—different techniques, so I’m excited to see what you come up with. And hopefully you’ll be able to submit a project you’re already doing anyway, so it won’t take any extra time.

Have a wonderful month, and Merry Christmas!

One of my favorite new holiday techniques is partial embossing with the On Board Chipboard and Petals a Plenty Impressions folder (well ok, any folder will work but this one is soooooo Christmas).

Here's a card I created making a Christmas Tree impression:

I hadn't tried much vintage stuff, but when I began to make my convention roommate gift packages, I found myself really getting into it (I think you finally convinced me, Shelli!) and I loved the results. My roomies seemed to, also, and I hope you will, too.

Here are some stars made with the Big Shot and our wonderful fabric. For added glitz I spritzed the finished star with a spray of homemade glimmer mist. Add a full bottle of shimmer paint, including the ball to a small bottle of pump hairspray. Try this instead of alcohol...lovely smell and so sparkly! Merry Christmas to all.

My all time favorite technique that I have ever tried is the mosaic tile. I love it because it uses up all of my scrap rubber so that I don't have to throw it away! I also love the pieced look that it gives the image, yet is to super simple! Thanks for looking!

Not so much as a technique I don't think, but does make tying bows sooooo much easier.

Here is a project I designed for an online class using our FABULOUS Stampin' Up! fabric. I also utilized My Digital Studio for the pattern for my tree. Just one of the many uses for MDS!

I used My Digital Studio to make Christmas gift tags. I saved my photos in a file in with the designer papers and was then able to fill a punched shape with the photo. The longer ones that look like two tags on top of each other are intended to be cut out as one piece and will be folded to open like a card. The smaller ones I will just punch out.

One of my favorite techniques is always watercoloring. I get a lot of requests to teach it and I think people really like it. So here is a project with a little watercoloring. Enjoy and thank you for another great challenge. Diana
