Thinking of You Creative Challenge

The past few weeks there have been several occasions (more than normal) where I’ve heard of someone going through a difficult challenge and I’ve wanted to send a card to let then know I’m thinking of them. I’ve had friends, families, neighbors, and others struggling with loss, illness and pain, discouragement, all kinds of things. And I know you have loved ones facing similar things.

So with that in mind, I thought this month I would like to see “Thinking of You” cards. That doesn’t necessarily mean the greeting has to say “Thinking of you” on the front—the cards may be sympathy or condolence cards, hang-in-there cards, you-can-do-it cards . . .whatever. Just a way of reaching out to someone who needs to know that they aren’t alone.

That’s what we do at Stampin’ Up!, isn’t it? Reach out to others, creating and strengthening relationships, making a difference. And being there for others during difficult times is one of the best times to do that.

I’m looking forward to seeing your thoughtful creations!

http://stampinsiblings.blogspot.com/2011/05/strength-hope-to-benefit-breast-cancer.html This card was originally done for a workshop. After the workshop, we donated the two sample cards along with a new Strength & Hope stamp set to a local cancer center. One of our friends and fellow demonstrator, Sherrill Graff, had sent out a request asking for donations of this stamp set along with a sample card that she would deliver to the cancer center, and would in turn be given to cancer patients as a gift of inspiration, and of "strength & hope". We were happy to contribute to her goodwill efforts!

Here's a soft, vintage 'friend' card that I think would be uplifting to receive in the mail with a sincere handwritten sentiment inside.

Hi Shelli! Here are a couple form the Strength and Hope Campaign.
They're "different, but the same". You'll know what I mean when you see them.

Another 'first-timer' :)

This is a card I made the day my owl punch arrived.

A friend of mine has been struggling this past month. She helped a homeless teenage boy (who happened to be one of her students when he was in the fifth grade) by letting him stay with her, feeding him, helping him get a car, helping him get a job, and basically being a mom to him. He recently got into some trouble, and she had to ask him to leave. She has really been struggling, and this is the card I made for her.

This is a combo I use a lot to send a word of encouragement to "first timers": first day of school, off to college, first time at summer camp, a new job. The saying is perfect and who couldn't smile at that big old bear!

I made this card and matching little gift box for a friend who I love dearly and don't nearly tell that to enough. I'll put some great little treats in the box and leave it on her doorstep just when she's not expecting it....
