Christmas Card Creative Challenge

I know, I know . . . it’s too soon to be thinking about Christmas already! If you’re like me, when I walk into a store this early and see Christmas decorations, I hate it—just let me enjoy the autumn! But three things happened in the last couple of weeks that make this challenge seem appropriate.

First, I demonstrated a Halloween project at our first two regionals last month, and several demonstrators mentioned how great it was to see it early enough that they could incorporate it into their Halloween workshops and classes. Second, we’ve actually started work on the Christmas cards we send to our vendors, so I’ve been thinking a little bit about Christmas cards anyway. . . Third, our Holiday Mini Catalog, which is packed with holiday products, was released.

It’s likely that many of our demonstrators really are working on Christmas cards already, and next month would be too late. So indulge me a bit, OK? Let’s share Christmas card ideas this month.

And by the way—I realize I’m almost a week late posting this! So sorry—hopefully you’ll still have plenty of time to come up with wonderful holiday greetings!

It's never too early to get those cards & gifts made!
The saying is retiring this month, but it could be substituted for another one of the lovely saying Stampin' Up! does.

Looking forward to some new goodies in the post, so made do with some older catalogue items to create this card for my latest technique class - emboss resist. Not used to working with non traditional xmas colours, but loved the result.

I really love the way this one turned out. It would be perfect for a stamp-a-stack class and highlights the new Cherry Cobbler embossing powder from the big catalog with the Christmas Lodge stamp set and DSP from the Holiday Mini. Hope you like it!

It is never too early to get started on Christmas cards (although my colleague had quite the shock when I mentioned I had worked on Christmas cards during a weekend in August before she had even taken her summer vacations!). Here are some I have put together using the fabulous new offerings from the Holidays mini:

Here's a 3D fireplace card I created. I think the fun-fold on this card accomplished with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool really makes it stand out. Enjoy!

My first Christmas card of the year - and I love this new stamp - it's such fun to colour with the Stampin' Pastels, and looks gorgeous done with the cracked glass technique. Thanks for taking a peek :)

Whoops! Just realised I forgot all about this card I did earlier in the year. We love doing 'Christmas in July' in Australia, because then all the snowy Christmas scenes seem just a bit more believable! Would love to get to see an actual white Christmas one day :)
