A Banner Creative Challenge

I love banners. . . for all kinds of reasons. They come in all shapes and sizes; they’re an easy, affordable way to decorate for a specific season or any special occasion; they can be personalized ; they can be as simple—or detailed and complex—as you want them to be; they brighten up any room. . .  the list goes on and on.

I’ve made several different banners through the years—long ones that stretched across a fireplace hearth or over the entryway to a room, tiny ones that hung perfectly on a cupcake, and all sorts of sizes in between. This month I’d love to see your banner ideas, so create a banner for any occasion—or no occasion at all!—and share it. . . .good luck!

Hi Shelli, I made a card using the Petite Pennant Punch Banner.

Here is a banner I created for my daughter's 1st birthday party:

Her 3rd birthday is just a month away, so I will be back once I have completed the banner I have in mind for the upcoming party! :)

I made this quick banner for my son's first birthday. It was super easy using MDS and was a last minute addition to the party decor that I love.

I have gotten the banner bug! I've made 2 banners and I am hooked! The first banner was a Valentine Love piece designed by my upline showcasing the heart framelit collection--everyone loved it, so I offered a class on it. The most recent banner I made was a welcome banner for a new cubicle mate; it featured the label collection framelits. I am loving the framelits as banner making tools!

Hello there Shelli! I made this wonderful Birthday Banner for my daughter's birthday. We will cherish this banner for many years to come. We have started a tradition of putting up each banner a few days before the birthday and leaving up at least a week after. My children really love all of the extra attention! Enjoy!

Shelli, I absolutely love banners, too! I know it was a Stampin' Up! event and a demonstration of the old Pennant Die that started my addiction. Here's one of the first ones I made for our home:

And here's one more, created with fabrics. Seems like I could have put an "N" on the end and left it up all year long, instead of just for Valentine's Day :)

Many of my friends are having babies these days, so I made my banner into a clothesline with cut out images from the Packed for Baby stamp set.

I'm a first time Grammy, so I made Mr. Harrison a banner for his door or wall. Easy Peasy with the Big Shot!

Ooh fun! I just stopped by to check out the current challenge and am excited that a scrapbook page I recently completed qualifies! http://www.sunshinesmilesstamps.blogspot.com/2012/03/on-pleasant-pond.html

It's been a while since I've played along!

I LOVE banners and just can't get enough of them. When I saw the challenge I knew I had to play. So, made this quicky as a home decor item for a baby shower brunch I hosted this weekend. It has now found a permanent home in my den.

I really enjoy the banner craze, because they look cute on everything! Here, I used the fabulous Letter It alphabet to create a title banner:

(On a side note, I love having a new SS kit in every minicatalogue and I hope you keep up with this trend!)

And I have this 3-D banner to share - thank goodness for the Big Shot when making something like this! I can't believe not that many years ago, we didn't carry the Big Shot and dies... It takes such center stage in all of my crafting now!

This mini-book was the M&T at my last home workshop. I learned how to make the inside fold at Leadership. The guests seemed to really like it. I really wanted to add Dazzling Details to the flames, but refrained because of drying time. I think I'll add some on my sample...

I Shelli, I wasn't going to enter this, but my husband talked me into it. If you can stomach reading my woes and looking at what little stamping I've done in the past three months you can find it here:

p.s. When do we get to know what the new in colors are ;)
