Father's Day Creative Challenge

I was looking ahead at the calendar a bit as I was thinking about this month’s challenge and noticed that next month (June) is Father’s Day in the US and Canada. I’d love to see your Father’s Day projects . . . cards, tags, wrapping, gifts, whatever. We have some great masculine products that would be perfect for a Father’s Day project. Plus, I’m always amazed at how some creative minds find ways to use products that don’t even look masculine to make perfect projects for men.

I’m sure we’ll all have fun checking out the inspiration, and even if you post a project on the last day, if someone sees it and falls in love with it, there will be enough time to make it.

A quick note: I realize we didn’t do a Mother’s Day Creative Challenge this year. We do that often, so I wanted to try something else this year. But that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate all the mothers out there as much as I do the fathers! Happy Mother’s Day!

A Banner Creative Challenge Winners

We had fewer entries this month than in most of our previous challenges, but the ones that were submitted were definitely fun and creative! I've become quite a fan of banners, and I enjoyed going through these and seeing the different ideas. . . banners on scrapbook pages, banners on cards, banners for holidays and parties. Your inspiring projects just reconfirmed my belief that we can use banners almost everywhere! Congratulations to our amazing banner winners!

Green & Growing Creative Challenge

Spring is in the air, and it seems like everywhere I look, I see green with pops of different colors as springtime flowers break through the ground. We had kind of a short, mild winter—but it was still plenty long for me, and I’m thrilled that green can be seen all over!

A Banner Creative Challenge

I love banners. . . for all kinds of reasons. They come in all shapes and sizes; they’re an easy, affordable way to decorate for a specific season or any special occasion; they can be personalized ; they can be as simple—or detailed and complex—as you want them to be; they brighten up any room. . . the list goes on and on.

I’ve made several different banners through the years—long ones that stretched across a fireplace hearth or over the entryway to a room, tiny ones that hung perfectly on a cupcake, and all sorts of sizes in between. This month I’d love to see your banner ideas, so create a banner for any occasion—or no occasion at all!—and share it. . . .good luck!

Simply Stunning Creative Challenge Winners

Loved looking through your Simply Stunning Creative Challenge submissions; so many of them inspired me and reinforced the idea that simple can be stunning! Several of you mentioned that the definition of simple varies from person to person, and I would agree. I’ve had people tease me sometimes about creating projects that I call simple but which to them are not simple at all! So it is pretty subjective, but I think the idea of trying to keep things simple in today’s hectic world is definitely something worth working toward!

The holidays are over, and I’m already looking forward to Valentine’s Day . . . at least in terms of stamping projects. Looking over the Love Is in the Air Creative Challenge projects totally got me in the mood for creating projects for those people I love!

There weren’t as many projects submitted this month as there usually are. . . chalk it up to being the holidays, right? I appreciate those of you who took time out of your busy schedule to share, and I really did enjoy seeing all the great ideas.

Simply Stunning Creative Challenge

This holiday I really made a concerted effort to keep things simple—our gifts were simple, our plans were simple, our entertaining was simple. That’s kind of been my mantra recently . . . I’ve realized that life is too short to stress out over making things complicated.

Moving forward into the new year, I’m committed to learning how to simplify my life in all areas—even the way I stamp! And for me, that will be difficult, because I do like textures and layers and bling. I’m sure that occasionally I’ll still have to give in and do something completely over the top, but I really am going to try to keep things simple this year.

So I thought we’d start with this month’s Creative Challenge—the Simply Stunning Card Creative Challenge. I know it’s possible to create cards that are simple yet stunning; I’ve seen several this holiday season . . . cards that are so simple yet eye-catching and amazing.

Making this change in my life isn’t going to be easy, but I’m very excited about it! And I know you’ll help inspire me with your creations!
