Our Powell Tradition

I've been a little absent this week, except for the Q & A. Every year we have one family tradition that is one of my favorites--we spend a few days on Lake Powell, a huge lake in southern Utah. We're on Powell now, and it's been fabulous! I'll tell you more about this favorite family reunion when I get back on Monday, but I just wanted you to know where I was--and why I wasn't posting.

Shelli,
I envy you and your family! I used to go to Lake Powell with a group every year and we had so much fun! But the group disbanded so I haven't been in several years. It is so beautiful down there and every year is different because of the different water levels. Do you waterski and do you have or rent ski boats? I'll be anxious to see pictures from your family Powell trip! Be safe!

Oh! You are so lucky Shelli to be spending time at Lake Powell! I'm so jealous! Are you renting a house boat? What canyons have you visited? One of my favorites is Moki Canyon. There's one canyon that has some indian dwellings and the water in front of the dwellings is so clear and beautiful! My dream is to make it up Escalane Canyon. Have you done any fishing? Oh the fish from Lake Powell are delicious! How's the water for swimming? I can't wait for you to get back to share your pictures and stories. Have a fantastic time!

Jealous, Jealous, Jealous is all I can say. It's by far my favorite place to be. Enjoy!

I hope you are having a wonderful time! Traditions are important. We have a family reunion every year that happens to be a 5-day camping trip in northern Calif. It's a blast not to mention beautiful. I hope to make it to Lake Powell someday. I've heard a lot of good things about it. God Bless!

Shelly,
I want to be a SU demonstrator and filled out the paperwork. Money is very tight, as I am sure you know, my husband just had a heart attack and I am looking to make extra income. I taught stamping techniques years ago so it is time to do this again and make money at something I love. HOWEVER, I want to switch items that are on the get started list - not the grayed out ones. I came up with the exact same dollar amount as is allowed picking other items that I know I can demo and sell and get people excited about but I am told that I can't do that. It has to be "if this stamp is $17.95, then your alternate is $17.95. Not if the total of all items is $88.45, come up with items that are $88.45 or less. As difficult as the economy is right now, I would think that there would be some flexibility so that people could pick what they knew they could jump right in and sell. For example, one of the items I picked was a big shot flower die that I could demo the heck out of and sell to other people. I guess if it is a matter of having to do it the exact way it is stated, then I will not be able to become a demonstrator because I have to stretch my dollars as far as they will go and I was trying to do that. I just thought that you should know my frustration and I wanted to chat with you. Thank you so much for your time. I have been buying your products for over 12 years now and love them.
