Orlando--A Happy Place

We took off in snow last Thursday, heading to our last full-day regional of the year. I took some comfort in the fact that we were heading to Orlando, so I knew the weather would only be getting better. And I was so right!

It was practically perfect in Orlando. In fact, I had dinner with an old friend on Saturday night and he mentioned that this is the time of year when people are tricked into moving to Orlando, thinking it’s like this all year long! I know I would sure be tempted!

We got set up early enough on Friday that we had a little extra time in the afternoon, and a few of us decided to spend a little relaxing time in the sun. I watched the clock very closely to avoid getting a sunburn, but I discovered that you can get burned even in the shade! I’m still red three days later, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be peeling big time!

The regional itself was, as always, awesome! I love our demonstrators, and I love spending time with them! Because it was the last full-day regional, we’re familiar with the agenda; it’s always nice to feel comfortable and know what’s coming up next. Of course, along with that comes a little sentimental sadness that we’re nearing the end of another year! (Although a few of us still have two half-day regionals next weekend in Montreal . . . I’m really looking forward to that!)

My stamping project at Orlando were these Easter eggs—quick, simple but pretty adorable holiday projects. They’re styrofoam eggs, covered with First Edition Designer Series Paper, accented with buds made from scallop punch card stock and seam binding, three different colors. Each of the girls will get a handful of eggs . . . I’m not sure how many of each color, depends on how many I can get made in the new few weeks.  (I’m sure you all know how that goes, right?)

With regionals done, our Events team will now be devoting much of their time and resources to preparing for convention!  And after next weekend’s half-day regionals in Montreal, I’ll be starting to look forward to Convention 2011 too! Hope you're planning on joining us. . .

The eggs are SO pretty, Shelli -- and I love the Victorian-looking bunny cards, too! Thanks very much for sharing both ideas. It's time to hang some April decorations on my studio display line, so I'll be out buying styrofoam eggs tonight! XO

Thank you for coming to Orlando. My guests and I had a wonderful time at the Orlando Regional. I was so excited when one of my 3 guests won a free stamp set in the 1st prize patrol. The day continued to get better with all the wonderful demonstrations, helpful hints and workshop coaching. To top it all off, I won a stamp set in the 3rd prize patrol. What are the odds of two people at the same table winning, never mind two people in the same party. Thanks for everything you do for us.

I love the eggs! I will have to make some asap! They are so beautiful. I'll have to figure out how to display them since I don't have a little tree to put them on. :)

Shelli, so many of your lovely projects have a "dusting" of Dazzling Diamonds on them. What do you do to get such a light effect and have them stick? I love the effect! Thanks for sharing, Ann

Ann, Shelli showed us that she used a fixative glue spray then lightly springling the diamonds.

Shelli it is always a pleasure to hug you and see your great smile and listen to the things you have to share with us. I was delighted to attend the full day regional even though my upline and two of my side lines were in the Friday night one. If I could have attended both of them I would have. They failed to tell me that Michele was presenting on Friday night or I would have definitely been there to cheer her on. She said attendance was a bit lower so they got to get up front and personal. We had a great time on Saturday but time always goes so fast when we are having fun and I wanted to get all I could from the regional. you always exceed our expectations and leave us wanting MORE MORE MORE! Thanks for coming to Florida to see us...I really loved our visit and all the presentations and especially the chocolate cupcakes. You really know the way to a girls heart!

Shelli, it was a true pleasure meeting you at the Friday night regional in Orlando. I was blessed to have met Shannon and Carrie, as well, who, by the way, are just precious! Thank you for coming such a long way for your Florida friends! You and your crew inspired me to work even harder to share what I love! Anytime you need anything down this way, I'll be glad to help! Sharing a Workshop Wow was a highlight for me and an experience I'll never forget! Thanks, again, and take care!

Shelli: I'm always amazed at how you make everyone feel like they've known you forever. My husband and I enjoyed the regional so much; in fact, I would say it was the best I've attended so far! I'm very happy to be associated with Stampin' Up; I wonder if everyone realizes what a special company it is. Thank you for making it possible for us to enjoy a thoroughly inspiring and enjoyable day.
