Fire & Ice--Eight Years Running

We attended the annual Fire & Ice Gala in St. George last night. It was a quick trip—a four-hour drive down, a three-hour event, and a four-hour drive back—all in one day, but it’s for a great cause, so it was definitely worth it!

We are avid supporters of this cause (we've attended all eight years they've held it), in part because Megan and Mom Pat are both on the committee that organizes the event, but also because we genuinely believe in what the event does—raise scholarship money for needs-based students attending Dixie State College.

The evening is always amazing—a black-tie affair with fabulous food, beautiful entertainment, a silent and live auction, and lots of fun! We usually have several of the kids with us. . . this year Sean and Sara and Megan and Nate were the only ones who could make it.

We were also pleased when Stampin’ Up!’s legal counsel, Tim Anderson, and his wife, Kathryn, joined us—they were already attending and were able to sit at our table.

We bid on a few items, visited a lot, and LOVED the entertainment, a singer who had one of the most melodic voices I’ve heard in a long time. Three scholarship recipients also spoke, and I enjoyed hearing their stories and the difference these scholarships make. It reminded me again how important education is and how grateful I am that we can help out.

We drove home after it was all over and arrived in the wee hours. Sometimes we’re able to stay down there, but not this year. . . Sterling had clinic and my day was full as well.  I’m ready to go to bed now though, the late night is catching up to me!

what a nice event to attend. I attended my son's Jazz Band Concert last evening. So great that we can support the Arts in one way or another. Love seeing the pictures. You all looked great. Can't wait to see all of you at convention this year. I am saving my pennies so I can attend.

You never cease to amaze me with the outpouring of great things that you do! I truly love how committed you are to such worthwhile causes and events...even if it does require so much sacrifice or work on your part! You are a remarkable woman!

Did you bid on another "trip?"

LOVE your hair Shelli! I am curious about something that I keep seeing Sara do & I think there may have been a picture of you with your hair that way, as well. A big piece form the back "swooped" forward or something. Is this a new trend the Gardner's are starting? How is that achieved?

Inspirational writing. Is there any approach you possibly can take away me from that service? You have performed a formidable job and our entire community might be thankful to you.
Thanks!
