Summer BBQ Already?
Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 09:15PM I can’t believe it’s time for our summer BBQ already! We have a summer party every year at Stampin’ Up!—both at our Riverton home office and our Kanab manufacturing facility—and it always surprises me how fast the year has flown by!
Today was our Kanab BBQ. I left early and drove down with Rich Jutkins and Dave Baugh, both corporate team members. We had a great time—the weather was as gorgeous as it’s ever been. It had rained earlier in the day, just enough to make everyone wonder if we’d be able to eat and play games outside, but by the time we arrived, it had cleared up and the sun was shining (typical Utah weather!). And everything was more vivid and brilliant because of the rain.
The decorations were great--a continuation of our convention theme with the chalkboard look and feel.
The food was delicious as well, yummy barbecued chicken and ribs. But I have to say that it wouldn’t matter what the food tasted like because the picnic is really about the people—AS ALWAYS! I love these wonderful people I work with and am so grateful for all they do.
Another fun thing this year was getting a guided tour of some changes at the facility. We have a few things in store—can’t talk about them quite yet, other than to say they’re coming—but it was very exciting to see how well things are progressing. How’s that for a teaser? Stay tuned. . .
