A New Adventure

I typically don’t post when my blog header changes, but judging by the response from the designers to the photo when they first saw it, I thought maybe this one might need a little explanation. When our designers first saw the photo of me with Kadie (my horse), they were all pretty surprised—after all, I don’t ride horses, right?

Well, I used to not ride horses. In fact, I’ve even posted several times about going with Sterling on his endurance rides, but not riding myself. Instead, while he rides with a group of our friends, I’ve stayed at camp, working or relaxing or hiking.

Well, things changed this year. Sterling’s always been very supportive of me and my interests, and I decided that I wanted to return the favor. So earlier this year, I started riding regularly, and this weekend, we’re heading off on my first official “endurance” ride. Perfect time for a new blog header that features my new interest. I can’t wait to let you know how this new adventure goes!

P.S. I included a few of the photos that we choose not to use as well, just for the fun of it!

The best of luck and joy on your endurance ride. There is no better way to bond with your loved one than to share their passions. There is no better way to bond with your horse than to share a ride with it. Ride on Shelli!

Your horse is beautiful and I wish you all the best on your first official endurance ride. As I read this I couldn't help but think about the shoulder issues you've been having, so please take care of yourself out there. Have a great time! Thanks for sharing all the photos, I loved seeing them!

It is always wonderful to share interests with your spouse, even if you don't actually participate. My husband loves photography. I go with him, read books, hike along with him. He is coming out to convention with me. He is going out to photograph the SLC area while I go crazy at convention. You have a beautiful horse. So what does an endurance ride entail?

Kadie is beautiful and you two match so well. Hope your ride was a true success and that the love between you and your horse is mutual. Sterling is really great to include you in this adventure with him. Loved my horses and they loved me. An overnight trail ride could have been a disaster as at camp my horse got loose and stood over me all night long-I know she wanted to go home but wouldn't leave without me. I was 12.
