Houston, We Had No Problems. . .

Wasn't that a great Leadership?!

Of course, I might be a little partial because I had been looking forward to being with our demonstrators again after way too long, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Houston with our Stampin’ Up! leaders!

From beginning (Managers’ Reception) to end (closing session and customer event), and everything in between, I felt things went great! The Managers’ Reception, held at the Downtown Aquarium was perfect. . . in fact, I think it’s my favorite Managers’ Reception ever.

It was a smaller venue, so we ran into each other often; they promised us hors d'oeuvres, and we got enough food for a meal (I’m always about the food, right?); there were rides and activities and exhibits. . . .It was just a perfect way to start off the event! I even enjoyed seeing the tigers. They seemed a bit out of place at an aquarium, but it worked for me!

And from there we moved onto great main stage presentations, classes, Share Fair, DRC, and a wonderful stamping night. I just thought everything went so smoothly, and I really loved the pace. It felt like there was always something to go and do, but it was never too hectic or chaotic that I felt rushed or stressed.

Of course, a highlight for me was the opening session, when I first walked out on the stage. This was my first contact with our demonstrators, and I immediately started to cry. The love in the room was overwhelming; I’ll never forget it. It was powerful.

Throughout leadership I got lots of hugs and well wishes from demonstrators who were glad that I was feeling well enough to be there, and many asked how I was doing. Great! I did get a little tired, and I have to confess that I had a small meltdown at one point when my tiredness transitioned into exhaustion. But that didn’t last long, and other than being tired, everything else held up great.

Kudos to everyone—all our demonstrators for being there and especially our staff for putting together such a fabulous event!

Thank you, Shelli for being a great inspiration!! I had a wonderful time at Leadership. It provided, more than ever before, ways to improve my business; but I am not just talking sales. I agree with you, I didn't join Stampin" Up! to sell stamps, but to reach out, serve and to love.

Many thanks,
Kathy Howes

Thank You for running such an awesome company! I am so blessed to be a part of this business. Attended my first Leadership - & Manager's reception -- it was all that I was told it would be like!

Leadership was wonderful! I loved the softer, introspective of the classes and the atmosphere in the Great Hall. It is so nice to attend something that isn't all about SALES, SALES, SALES! But, where we are challenged and encouraged to make differences and celebrate everyday life! Beautiful! My head is filled with amazing ideas and I need to get my thoughts focused so I can proceed with a plan. Thank you to you and all of the staff. Leadership is a highlight for sure! It was nice to see you back on a horse, even if it was a sea horse! ;)

I was amazed at the energy and camaraderie I felt. This was my first Leadership convention and I was welcomed by some senior demonstrators who made me a part of their circle for the conference. I came away inspired and on fire for the Stampin' Up! brand. To be part of a company that not only shares my passion for stamps and creativity but encourages and empowers each of us to define our success and make it happen - is wonderful! It won't be easy but I am going to aim for making Managers Reception next year! Thanks Shelli and all of the staff for a great event!

So glad you had such a great time! It looks awesome. But it makes me even more sad that I missed it, stuck in Buffalo!!!! Our flights kept being cancelled, delayed, to the point where we were still not leaving by Thursday night! So sad, so depressed. But such is life. I am now looking forward to next "Convention".

Best wishes for your continued, amazing, recovery. God Bless!

I have never been able to attend any conferences, and I just had a customer ask me about the new markers that I guess are coming out in the spring. The fact that my customer knew about something before a demonstrator is something I found embarrassing. I guess someone that was able to attend the leadership conference blogged about it and my customer looks at other blogs as she is an avid crafty card and other crafts aficionado. Once the conference is over, maybe these types of things should be shared with the rest of us so we can be ready for questions from those customers that may find the information from another demonstrator through her blog.

I wish I could attend these things but between not having any known upline anymore, and not having any downline (mostly a hobbyist myself), it just doesn't seem feasible for me to go as I don't want to do things alone. I am not an independent/solo traveler so I doubt I am ever going to make one.

I am sorry to be Debbie the Downer but just wanted to express my feelings of embarrassment and inept demonstrator. Thanks for letting me put it out there.
