I'm a Graduate!

I “graduated” this week from occupational therapy—a great milestone in my recovery! I’m very excited (it will be great to have one less thing to fit in my calendar) but kind of sad.

I’ve been working with Andy, my occupational therapist, for months, and he has made it enjoyable. You can tell he loves what he does (and we all know how important that is!), and I enjoyed getting to know him. He was patient yet firm; he took it seriously but made it fun. I looked forward to going to therapy (even though I knew it would hurt) because I knew I’d learn something new from Andy and make progress towards “graduating.”

And now I’m there—woo hoo! I’ll definitely miss Andy—but I won’t miss therapy! There are plenty more things on my list to work on!

Congratulations! Physical therapy can be hard, but when you stick it out to the end...the results are worth it! I am glad you are getting back to 100%! Kudos!

Congrats!!! We know you've worked really hard to reach this day. I have to say I might have kept the news quiet. Everyone's gotten used to you not being available at certain times. I might use that to slip in a lunch with my sweetie or for surprise visits/adventures with the grans - with parent approval of course. Don't be too quick to let go of "Me Time".

Congratulations, Shelli! That's excellent news. And what a wonderful time of the year to celebrate such progress, right on top of the blessedness of Easter.
Congratulations! I'm sure you were a model patient. So glad it all worked out for you.

I'm going thru physical therapy myself, and know first hand how painful it can be. However, (and that's a big HOWEVER) I see progress week to week. Congratulations to you, you've reached yet another milestone of which you can be proud!
