You Are Loved!

I just returned from a quick trip to southern Utah and have heard that there are a few demonstrators who are disappointed with their experience at the Catalog Premiere (which I blogged about here). I understand that the issue is that our demonstrators in Long Beach, where the event originated, got a bonus session and additional free product. While we didn’t detail what demonstrators who attended the Long Beach event would receive (we never specify at any of our events what the prizes and giveaways will be), we did communicate that there was an additional presentation there—and we also charged more for that location. Any demonstrator could attend, and we had demonstrators who traveled to Long Beach for that experience.

I also mentioned in my earlier post that we were short catalogs in a couple of locations, which really was inexcusable. We’ve fumbled a bit in our attempt to make that right, but it’s my understanding that every demonstrator who didn’t go home with a catalog in hand has heard from us by today as we’ve tried to correct that situation.

I’m so sorry if some of you were disappointed—I hate it when everyone isn’t happy. I don’t want any of you—regardless of where you attended—to feel undervalued or unappreciated. The Long Beach event was slightly different, but it wasn’t because the demonstrators there were more important—it was simply because we had more space and more time (the movie theaters wanted us in and out quite quickly). I would have loved to have all 7,000-plus demonstrators there with us. But that wasn’t feasible, so we did our best. . . Please know that you are loved and valued, whether you were in Long Beach or San Antonio or Calgary. . . or any of the other locations.

I also wanted to share a bit about the past few days in southern Utah, but I’ll save that post for tomorrow. . .

I felt loved in Sacramento, Shelli! Thank you so much for my brand new stamp set! I've been playing with it and I love it! My new catalog is already dog-eared, and creased from being thumbed through so much this week. I had a wonderful time with my fellow demonstrators, and I am not disappointed at all with my experience!

We had a lot of fun in Syracuse....loved the many Prize Patrols......(i even won new in Color ink pads!). SU does a great job with events, but it's too bad some people can't be happy. It only makes sense that if the Long Beach fee was higher than the theaters, attendees there would receive more.
I hope that this event is continued to be offered in the future.

Hi Shelli, I was also at the Syracuse Premier and we had a blast! It was my very first time at a SU event and I couldn't have been happier to see you up on the screen! There was NO dissappointment in our Theatre! I didn't win with Prize Patrol (wootwoot YAY Mary!) but it was a fun experience non the less!! There are always going to be people that find "something" to be unhappy about it seems, which is unfortunate but true.. I hope that there are many more events out here on the EAST Coast!! Come back and see us soon Shelli!!

I was at the Phoenix event and had a wonderful time. I am very grateful for the experience and the stamp set I received! Stampin Up! is a wonderful company to work for and I am always amazed and appreciative of what you do for us and the opportunity to always earn free product. Shelli, you do nothing but GIVE, GIVE, GIVE to all of us and it is very sad that anyone would be ungrateful and complain about your generosity. This was such a fun way to get the new catalog and I do hope you will contine the event in the future. Thank you so much from Phoenix!!!

I thought the premiere event was well-run, convenient, and a great value. I did not win anything additional and was quite happy with the stamp set, catalog, and over two hours of information and ideas! I hope you will offer more of these types of events in the future.

Hi Shelli!! I would have loved to attend an event but there wasn't one anywhere near where I live (there were only 4 events held in all of Canada, which is a pretty small ratio, nd they weren't the same day as the original event, though many demos in the US posted as though they were...they were a couple of days later...closest to me would have been 6 hrs away and on April 30th too, which for me, an accountant, is one of the busiest days of my career, our tax deadline in Canada is April 30th rather than the 15th, so long travel that day was not a possibility). I don't say that to complain, we can all let ourselves get discouraged...I started to feel that way after all the positive posts of those who attended, and then I was talking with someone in demonstrator support and they told me the event would be online by Friday and I was able to see the catalog electronically Thursday (and order my supply of those!) I had Friday off, so I cleared my morning, made a coffee and biscotti and had enjoyed the 2 1/2 premiere in my own way...loved it! And, yes, by not being there, that meant I couldn't get any prizes or the free stamp set that others got, but I also didn't spend the $40+ to get in along with any travel and hotel expenses...I simply added the Work of Art set (that was given away at the event) to my pre-order (costing me $26.95 after my discount & including delivery; which was less than the $40 entrance) and didn't feel left out as a result! The bottom line is that we all have to make the best of our situations...we can choose to be bitter or better... :)

I thought this was a great value and I would love to be able to attend more of this kind of event. I usually make it to Leadership and Convention and love being there. But, this is so much more of a value and so convenient. I hope you don't let those people that are always unhappy and disappointed make you feel bad. If they can't see your heart, which you share so often and so lovingly with all of us, that is their problem not yours. For the difference in the cost of Long Beach, we can buy ourselves some stamps and we all had the choice to be there if we wanted. Maybe next time the live show will be closer to different people so they have the chance to go. Most of us love SU and the naysayers will never be happy no matter what you do. Thanks for making SU such a great experience for us.

Shelli, I went to Cincinnati and felt very fortunate to have a Premiere that I could attend. Getting the catty and Work of Art made for a spectacular night. I feel know ill will towards someone who had a slightly different venue, with more goodies. Renting theaters can bring about unique restrictions. A wonderful friend of mine won prize patrol and that is how it goes, happy for her. Yes, I know we demos get cranky some times, the smell of new rubbah in our nostrils, almost close enough to touch, can get our undies in a bundle. Thank you for understanding, listening and putting on fun new events!!

hi shelli, i attended the premiere in columbus, ohio & thought it was wonderful. i appreciated having an event close enough to drive to & shared the experience with 2 new demos i met at the mason unite & excite event in april.

i sincerely hope that su! will continue to offer these types of events throughout the country as many of us are not able to attend convention. i appreciated the affordability and getting a stamp set along with our catalog was a wonderful surprise!

thanks to you & all your staff who worked to make this premiere a fun experience ~ smiles, karen

I was so thankful for this experience! As a hobby demo, I probably will never be able to attend convention so I truly enjoyed it. Thank you!

Hi Shelli,
I went to the Mississauga launch and had a lot of fun...I even won a prize patrol!!
But even if I didn't I had lots of fun!!
Like someone mentioned before be bitter or better!!
I think people always find something to complain about...don't let that discourage you!! You're doing your best...
Keep those launches coming! I just loved the demos....can I say that Brian is soo cute and funny ! I loved all the demos they were doing a great job!! Thanks for spending time in doing this!! I hope to see you and your team on convention ( 1st time)
Don't forget you are loved!!

Hi Shelli -- I'm so sorry to hear that you experienced any hiccups at all last Monday evening; or that anyone would complain. I attended the Lakewood/Denver, CO event, and was just enthralled the entire evening. I think this was just the best idea and thoroughly enjoyed the event; even if I didn't win a Prize Patrol ;-) Please don't let the few ruin it for the many. I don't think there was anyone "disappointed" at our venue. I know that I fully understood that the Long Beach event was different, and cost more. I had no issues with anything in terms of how you set it up. And frankly, it was just an absolutely thrill for me to sit up close and see you guys on screen and feel like we were "almost there." :-) I happy happy happy!! And I love everything you do for us and this company. Please don't stop these wonderful events; or let a few "complainers" get you down. Cheers!

Hi Shelli! I've been with SU for over 5 years and this was my very 1st Stampin'Up! Event that I attended in Long Beach. Let me tell you …. I didn't expect to get anything for free let alone to find out that you were there in the flesh! That was a BIG WOW for me! I didn't even know why everyone was getting excited for "Prize Patrol". I was just happy to be there and finally see you in person and the rest of the SU! Staff.

There is saying - You can't be disappointed if you never expected anything in the first place.

I was EXTEMELY GRATEFUL for just being there! THANK YOU! Stampin'Up! is nothing but AWESOME!

Shelli…..I traveled 3 hours to the Branford CT Premiere and it was fantastic! Loved the presentations and felt the stamp set and catalog were the greatest giveaways ever!! Thank you for all you do and I'm hoping this event will be offered in the future.

Thank you Shelli, thank you Stampin' Up! staff who left their families behind and thank you Stampin' Up! for creating a fun, unique and enjoyable evening. I traveled 4 hours to be at the closest location...our group had a wonderful girls day out and fabulous time seeing the teasers, fantastic projects and little sneak peaks of the new catalog. If someone didn't or couldn't make the sacrifice or effort or necessary arrangements to attend, it is NOT Stampin' Up!'s fault. I, for one, am very tired of demonstrators whining and complaining about all the things that they don't get or ways that SU lets them down or how little SU considers them. SU is more than a corporate name, it is people with beating hearts who pour their heart and soul into what they do...for me and for every demonstrator. Thank you for your tender heart and thank you for giving so generously of your time, your creativity and your graciousness.

Shelli, I was in Sacramento with at least 20 friends and downline. We all had a fantastic time! I for one never expect anything extra, however you always are so giving of your time, your thoughts and SU product. I'm grateful, happy and your biggest cheerleader, you go girl!

Thank you!

Shelli and all the Long Beach presenters...I had a fantastic time and NOT just because we received more goodies! The whole event was informative and so entertaining. I personally spoke with Brian Pilling and told him how great the whole presentation was and I especially enjoyed his part. He is hysterical! I LOVE the new catalog and all the new items. Thank you ALL for an outstanding first (hopefully many more) Premiere event.

As another Syracuse participant - I couldn't be more pleased with the venue and was very grateful that Syracuse was included in the event. I had a great time and felt like it was a mini convention for all of us. Great for those that haven't yet attended the convention in SLC. I do appreciate the free stamp set - couldn't have picked at better one - and would have still felt this way had we just received a catalog. Everyone, please remember the effort and time, not to mention the cost, that Stampin' Up! and the employees put into bringing this to us.
Thank you Shelli and all that worked to make this event special for us.

Hi Shelli - I went to the Orlando premiere. I had to drive several hours and stay overnight, but it was SO worth it! I am just in awe of what a huge undertaking this was and how well it was done. It had everything I've come to expect from a Stampin' Up event, from exciting product demonstrations, to prize patrol and even swaps!

The pre-order period also seemed to go much more smoothly this year, and the catalog is just awesome. I am so excited about the Blendabilities and Project Life and so many other things in the catalog. Its shaping up to be a great catalog year!

I so hope you do a launch party again next year!

I attended the event in Lexington KY and made two new stampin' friends. You can not put a price on that, we had an absolute blast and I thank you for it. We are already making plans to meet up again even though we live miles and miles apart. For me this is what keeps me going, the stampin' love I find at all SU! events whether from the home office people or from new demo friends I have just met. Thank you from the bottom of my stampin' heart for the opportunity.

Hi Shelli!

This wasn't the first Stampin' Up! event I've attended, but for $40 and an hour and a half drive, it certainly ranks among my favorites! I attended in Lexington KY with Barbara Becker (commented earlier) and others, and we did have a wonderful time! The energy in the theater was awesome, and we were so thrilled to receive the Work of Art stamp set and a catalog at the end of the session. I'm sorry there were some who complained, but there always are. It makes me sad for you, but please know that for every upset demonstrator, there are probably fifty or more who are ecstatic!

Love you,

I just got to watch the catalog premiere event online today. I had a lot of fun watching it, even though I had already seen the catalog online and placed my pre-order. I was happy to see you looking so well and I could tell how excited you were and I could feel that you genuinely care for all of us. I wasn't able to attend live, but I'm so glad that you made the event available to all us. :)
Hugs, Brenda

We had a great time in Atlanta. I won't be able to attend convention this year and neither will the two ladies that attended the event with me. We were all so happy to be able to join in the fun!! Great presentations and we went away excited about the new catalog and our fabulous new stamp set. :) I do hope that you'll do this type of event again in the near future!
